On my birthday in early October, I got the life changing news that I had been offered the opportunity of a lifetime - to live out my dream as a cruise ship musician, for none other than Disney!

After getting all the formalities sorted and contracts signed; in just a few short weeks, I was flown out to Toronto, Canada to rehearse.

Canada

From watching the Disney magic come to life, meeting my super talented and friendly fellow cruise ship musicians and hopping on to a boat that rode into the centre of Niagara Falls - I truly had a blast!

It wasn't all plain sailing however (pardon the pun)...
Determined to not let the team down and to keep up at the rate we were required to learn our parts - I was awake by 5:30am almost every day, ready to rehearse by 6! I would then rehearse in my apartment until 9:30, when my team and I would walk to the studios and rehearse till 6pm. But like most musicians on their first contract, my day didn't end there... Keen to learn the parts of pieces I struggled with earlier, I would continue playing till late evening till I could at least perform the songs with the track. Then, after the music, came the choreography - which although is not my strong suit, I was thoroughly chuffed with myself by our final run through of the production on my final day in Canada!

So what will I be doing on the ship?

I have 3 roles as a singer/ guitarist on the ship:

  1. Performing as 1/3 of a musical trio (singer/ violinist/ guitarist) as part of a Frozen production in a Frozen themed restaurant

  2. Performing a set of songs as part of that same trio, in a lounge bar

  3. Performing as a solo act in various places around the ship

I will be performing on the Disney Wish which travels between Florida & The Bahamas
